Watercolor & Oil painting

Still life & architecture

I am interested by how light interacts. In my watercolor light is a ghost; the untouched white of the paper through thin veils of pigment. In oil painting light is a physical presence – a thick dab of lead white or a deep transparent shadow.

Mastering both allows me to explore structure of my subjects from two entirely different directions. Celebrating both their delicacy & their strength.
